Can someone explain why the AA will not accept Maestro payments for European Cover? I should have known something was untoward when on telephone renewal in 2011 I was told that they would not accept Maestro, only credit card payment. I subsequently found out what a minefield continuous payment is on a credit card. It took numerous phone calls, emails and I even resorted to the AA's twitter page I was so desperate to get their fingers out of my money. The thing is, unlike a direct debit, YOU do not have the right to cancel the payment only the company you allow to have access can stop the payments. So if they don't get things right they could take money from your card even if you cancel the card. If you don't believe me just have a BING.
Just joined Brittania rescue for European cover and £130 for credit card and £135 for Maestro with no automatic renewal on the Maestro. Weird!
