I thought this belonged here as i dont need help with it, so much as help deciding whether to buy it! Apologies if its in the wrong section.

Anyway, does anyone have it and love/hate it...? I'm investing in an amp and speakers soon to play 320 kbps mp3s and high quality wave files, an wondered if this may be a wise addition, as it is highly reccommended by the folk on the what hifi forums.

its also come to my attention that some hifi makes such as onkyo make sound cards too. anybody know anything about these...?

Yes they seem very well respected. I'm considering an Onkyo card no (still considering M Audio too), they have a similiar feel about them - made by a good hifi manufacturer with the emphasis on parts and connections, rather than gimmicky additional software. I'm no musician, ill only use it for listening via a new amp and apeakers, but they sound good.
