Looking for a good 5.1 setup....

As the title suggests - I want a 5.1 setup (can't accomodate more speakers) mainly for gaming but I would like it to sound good playing music as well.
I have both coax digital and conventional 5.1 outputs from the pc. Budget is £100+ (I liked the look of the Logitech Z-680 but the financial controller vetoed that one) currently favour the Logitech Z-5300 for about £120.
Also needs to have a headphone socket, any ideas or experience anyone please?

Have a look at Creative Soundblaster's Audigy2 click here for more info I've got the 6:1 version, it is excellent for games and music.

Creative does take some beating for sound cards as it has specialised in this field for many years.

It could be that the Soundblaster Live! would more than suffice for your purposes though and would only cost around £25-£30 in OEM form (drivers etc from its website). I have one and it drives my IBM 2.1 setup very well.

To get the best out of Audigy2 sound cards you will need the high quality speakers setup to match - look at Altec Lansing, Harmon Kardon, Logitech and, of course, Creative. which also offers speakers as good as its sound cards.

Thanks for the replies - re-reading my post I realise I wasn't being very clear - I'm actually looking for just the speakers. :)

The advice still stands re the speakers..:-)

Try and hear them before buying - Staples usually has a comparison area (also for TFT screens). Last time I was in I saw a Sony black screen TFT which was absolutely stunning and left the others for dead..but I digress...

Otherwise try click here for a good choice (click here).

Many items are often cheaper on its TodayOnly page click here

Thanks for your help - nice tip about Staples, I'll try them out.
