Personally I have a Panasonic DMR-EH50 DVD Recorder with an 80GB Hard Drive and find it excellent. Bought it January this year.
When I was researching DVD Recorders, the Panasonic came top. Another good make is Sony.
As regards Liteon, their prices are lower and so is their reliability !
Panasonic and a couple of other makes can also use DVD-RAM Disks in addition to DVD +R and -R. These are Rewritable Disks that can be rewritten to 1,000's of times with no loss of data.
