I am about to buy a new laptop and would appreciate a little advice.

I will be using it to play poker (multiple screens running), music, photos and watching dvds.

my budget is Max £900.

Until resently I owned a Sony vaio until some very kind gentleman who could clearly see i was overlaiden, relieved me of it whilst i was waiting for a taxi in rome :)

although i spend 30-50 hours a week on these things i have absolutely no idea what i should be buying.

any advice gratefully received

David

ps i've already been given the "dont put your laptop bag down at the taxi rank" advice so ty in advance for that one.

You don't need to spend £900 for a laptop that will do all that. What size of screen are you after?

hello Crash
i'd like a 17" screen that shows dvds clearly

Something like this? click here#

This one has a hd-dvd drive click here

or look at a dell 1720 with an ultrasharp screen

if i went for the dell what processor should i choose

I would go for the T7250 2.00ghz along with the ultrasharp screen, 256 graphics, 250gb hard drive and if you can afford it the blu ray drive would be a nice luxury
