Laptop advice for 4-month expedition

I'd like some advice about which laptop to buy for a 4-month world record breaking expedition across Australia. The laptop has to have a long battery life, be powerful enough to operate video editing, digital imaging and web design software and still be robust enough to stand up to a few months on the road.
Any advice?

The budget is £2000, although I'd prefer to keep it as low as possible. The laptop will be kept in a van so probably doesn't need to be bullet proof!

"kept in a van", then depending on what part of Australia the expedition is taking part across, you will need to consider climatic and environment changes. This can make quite a difference in the functioning of the laptop.I would suggest that you contact someone like the National Geographical in London for advice, as to what their expeditions use.

There used to be a brand called Husky but I think it might have been taken over by this company:

The Husky address is given as:

Husky Computers Ltd, Eden Road, Walsgrave Triangle Business Park, Coventry, West

An example of a Husky:
