  Dellman 13:30 20 Sep 2007

Looking to get a second-hand or reburbished laptop. Any recommendations as to:

- type
- and trusted retailer that specialises in secon-hand/refurbished.

Looking for a laptop that can deal with:

-wireless connectivity
-surfing the net
-downloading music/movie files

Many thanks...

How much do you want to pay and what specification are you looking for?

With the price of new laptops falling and new models arriving all the time you can pick up end of range models for a little over £300. A second hand laptop is likely to have a battery of questionable condition - replacement batteries are likely to be expensive relative to the cost of the machine. Also the likelyhood of needing a new screen or inverter might put you off since they could cost you over £120. There is no way of knowing with a second user machine. Most retailers will offer a 3 or 6 month warranty so check.
