ISP billing question.

  charlton200 19:00 29 May 2008

I changed ISP on the 25th of May. From Tiscali to O2.
On the 26th May I wrote to my bank and Tiscali cancelling my direct debits.
I had a letter today from Tiscali saying don't cancel direct debit (too late) because after they take next month payment out they will automatically close the direct debit for me.

My question is, do i pay in-advance for my Internet connection or do I pay for my previous months connection.
My next Tiscali payment would have been on the 4th June, my new o2 connection starts on the 9 June.

Thank you.

What did the contract that you agreed to say?

A year or two ago, Tiscali made changes to their customer billing arrangements. I think payment are now 'in arrears', in which case you will now owe them a final direct debit payment, as they have suggested.

How will they get it if I have cancelled my direct debit. Will they bill me.
Also I can not find the contract so I have no idea.

Thanks you.

I have just done the same with Tesco. They sent me a bill, I rang them up and paid by credit card.
