How much spec ??

  ANFIELD 10:09 20 Jan 2005

I am looking for a desktop replacement laptop/notebbook. I would be looking to download music, create cd's, internet use etc...

Would probably not be used much away from home. I am looking at Mesh, Evesham, Watford Electronics.

What I am unsure of is how much spec/power I'm going to need. Iwas thinking along the lines of P4 processor 3.2 Ghz, 1024mb RAM, 60GB Hard disk, a dvd re-writer, and ATI Radeon 126Mb Graphics.

Is this too much for my intended use ??

I probably have a maximum budget of £ 1000.00

Any thoughts, or laptop models would be appreciated.

The old adage used to be choose the software first and then a system that was capable of running it, plus a bit over....

Your spec will suit most purposes with one exception - hard drives are so cheap these days that 60GB is small beer and your intended use would soon fill it.

In fact it's unlikely you would be able to buy a quality system with a small hard drive of such small capacity; more likely to be well into three figures.
