Hoax Microsoft email

  Mike D 10:36 05 Aug 2009

I have just received an email purporting to come from Microsoft about a critical update to Outlook and Outlook Express. It has a hyperlink to a Knowledge Base number.

If youm receive this it is a hoax. I have checked with MS and confirmed this.

I also received (and binned) it :)

Had three emails this morning on same subject, with slight differences in wording.

There's also one about Hotmail which says that MS is "tidying" things and that your account will be closed unless you provide various bits of information.

I've had about 30 of these - the majority of forum members will be well aware that Microsoft NEVER sends out unsolicited e-mails.
