Hewlett Packard Deskjet 5552 Offer PC World

PC World have an offer on this printer they are only 65 pounds, half price.

I already have a HP 3420. I am considering buying this printer, do you think that it will offer better quality than my 3420.?

Is this similar to the HP Deskjet 5550?

Any info on this printer would be appreciated.

ive printed a couple of pics on the 5552 at work (Dixons) for examples of quality and it pretty much rivals the 5550, except that the 5550 comes with colour and photo cartridge instead of colour and black cartridge (tho you can use one if u like). cartridges are £20.99 black £29.99 colour and £24.99 photo if memory serves.

pity our arm of the company isnt doing the same offer!

It's a bargain price for a printer that John Lewis sell for £149:00. The 5550 looks lovely, but to be honest its performance doesn't match its looks.

The 5552 isn't such a handsome printer, and I can't comment on its performance. At that price it's probably worth taking the plunge.

Make sure you weigh in the running cost. I think HP's cartridges are a bit on the expensive side. But it defo is a bargain and am contemplating it myself. But as i suggested to you, I will be chacking around for compatible cartridges to keep costs down. All the best

the 5552 and 5550 all use the HP #56 blk #57 photo and #58 clr cartridges (photo and colour may be other way round) if this helps

Just been out to pcworld and bought 1 for my daughter.

As usual they knew nothing about the offer and had to check up.

Nice printer, but only comes with 1/2 filled/1/2 empty cartridges. (quoted as 17 pages per min black).
