HD TV without HDMI sockets

Hi,Family member bought a LCD TV last year which was advertised has HD ready. It even has this printed on the TV.

He went to connect a DVD recorder to the TV ,only to find no HDMI sockets, on the TV,just 1 VGA.

Is this a HD ready TV?,if not can it be returned?.

Yes as ßeta has asked the model number would be useful.

Some TVs do have their HDMI or DVI sockets hidden under a plastic cover, perhaps yours has?

The manual should clear up any problems/queries regarding the various sockets.
