Gaming laptop

Could anyone please advise me as to which laptop to consider for gaming and internet use along with word and excel. many thanks

Gaming laptops are expensive - you won't get any change from £1,000 and you should probably spend more. Does it have to be a laptop? A desktop is better value and will last you longer because you can upgrade it.

why not go for Alienwares high end SLI laptop? click here

Its a strong £ against the $ at the moment, u cud grab a bargain.

1,599.00 USD = 799.328 GBP

which leaves plenty for shipping, and NO uk laptop will beat it performance wise.

Don't forget that you'll have to pay import duty - which could wipe out the saving.

..and the $1,599 version you're referring to has an AMD turion 64 1.8Ghz processor, only 1Gb memory, a SINGLE 256 7900GS card, only 1440 x 900 screen res, no 7200 rpm drive....

there's plenty that will beat this performance wise

In fact, I've just configured all the settings, to something that's comparable to rocks xtreme ctx pro, performance wise - it wapped the price up to $2,919
