Gaming Laptop

Does anyone have some words of wisdom for someone like me looking to purchase a laptop for general use and playing new games. Under £900 if possible.
I'm drawn to Dell 9400 with 2GB, Geforce 256mb 7900 or Evesham Quest A425 with 2GB Ram, Geforce 256mb 7600 (well reviewed in press)
All thoughts are graciously received.

I would possibly go for the dell or any good spec'd laptop with a dedicated graphics card. do make sure that the card is not using any system memory to make up the 256mb...

this might help you decide...big difference in gaming terms between a 7600 and a 7900. A 7600 will struggle with newer games like stalker, for sure. I'm actually surprised you've found a £900 laptop with one of these in it.

The graphics card is the most vital component for gaming so if that is your priority then the Dell will be the machine to go for.

May I ask if it must be a laptop as ive found that gaming laptops arent up to much, you will have difficuly playing new games at high detail settings. Also they tend to overheat quite a bit if playing for a long period of time. What size is the hard disks in both machines?
