freeview tv

I have just got a new tv, it is hd ready with integrated freeview. Although I can recieve every channel clearly the signal meter for each channel is about 50%. With my old crt tv and set top box the signal meter was 95 to 100% for each channel. I am using an aerial in the loft that I have had for 30 odd years. I would like to know if these new tv's need a new aerial to get a full strenth signal. I am about 20 miles from from the transmitter.

The signal strengths for Freeview digital channels vary from MUX to MUX - if you are getting good pictures and sound don't worry.

If my computer system's Freeview TV card gets too strong a signal pictures and sound break up...:-)

If you are worried then you should get a wideband aerial for best digital reception.
As Stuartli says if you are getting the programmes OK then why worry.
