This is just to comment on the service I received from Freecom when my 18 month old external drive started to fail. It would regularly stop half-way through a back up, so I contacted Freecom and they sent me a returns number and address. It was dropped off last Friday and yesterday (Weds) I received a brand new hard drive in the post. Not only that but my old one was 160gb and the new one is 250gb! We often hear cases on the forum of poor service so I thought I'd pass on news of excellent service. It would certainly make me buy another Freecom in future.
I had two Classic 500GB Freecom drives die on me, I blamed the power supplies as the drives now live in drive enclosures, perhaps I should have given Freecom a call first, they were a year or two old and I assumed they were out of warranty, perhaps they weren't.
I guess what they say about assume is true then.
