What ever happened to the Fine Fare & Hillards supermarket chains ?

If memory serves me correctly Fine Fare used to be part of the Kingfisher Group who had their own building section who built their stores.

Fine Fare was bought by Safeways in about 1965, several stores retained the Fine Fare Brand, but I don't know for how long.

Most, but not all, of Safeways was then bought by Morrisons a few years back.

Most of these type of companies have been taken over or have gone bust. A simple check with Companies House might reveal some or all the information that you require.

The Kingfisher Group as had its ups and downs, with the companies that are or were in the ownership of that group. Barbra Hutton must be turning in her grave now, on how her once great empire as become!.

Travis Perkins is the company to keep an eye on. Perhaps more so with their empire building of late!.
