External Hard Drive

  SURVEY 09:55 15 Jan 2007

I am looking for an external hard drive with firewire and USB connections of 320+GB. Any recommendations?

I have seen a Western Digital 'My Book' with firewire for £92 on Amazon. Some advertised in PC World are not firewire.

What about the 400gb Freecom?
I believe it uses a Western Digital drive.
Cost £95 from PC World - good reviews.

bobbyald - is this firewire as well as USB2? I had always been under the impression that freecom equipment was not quite as good as other makes - am I wrong?

  vinnyT 11:16 18 Jan 2007

The according to the freecom site, only the Data Tank 3.5" External Dual Disk Hard Drive / 3.5" / UP TO 1TB / USB 2.0 / FireWire 800 & 400 / WIN & MAC.. is firewire capable.

The smallest drive is 500gb and costs (on their site, poss cheaper elsewhere) £259.99.
