Am looking to buy a pc for about £1000. Dell (Dimension 9150 with a couple of upgrades) seem to offer the better deal with better warranty than Evesham (Lightning Plus with similar upgrades to Dell eg 3.2 processor, 1gb memory)but Evesham provide 3 pci express slots whereas Dell seem to supply 3pci and one express slot. Is this significant? Also, with Dell you get 256 mb NVidea 6800 whereas with Evesham I've selected NVidia 6600gt - any significant difference?

Any other advice appreciated.

Have you tried MESH???

I've heard nothing but bad reviews about Mesh's after sales service. Is this untrue?

TIMSMITH - hard to day that they are untrue; they get a lot of complaints but they shift a lot of machines.

Dell probably get as many - just not here.

Most people who buy PCs have no problem and don't bother to tel people what good service they have had.

that you won't need any after-sales service from either company. The vast majority of computers sold work straight out of the box, and continue to do so.

Thanks everyone, that's most helpful.
