Error message on booting up

  Glen 20:14 24 Jul 2003

When I boot up my computer the following error message is displayed across the desktop,

? Error Starting Program. The POPEXAM.DLL file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6467?.

I am running Windows 98SE, and Norton Antivirus 2000. I have twice recently updated my virus definitions, but the program does not seem to register this fact and tells me ?Your virus definitions more than two weeks old and need to be updated.? I have tried to find and open these files but could only get ? C\ProgramFiles\NortonAntiVirus\POPEXAM.DLL is not a valid Win32 application?.

What does this mean, and how can I put it right?
