DVD Writer's as Default...

It's funny, as technology moves on we still end up with the same old devices being included with pre-built PC's.

Wouldnt it be nice if you could simply buy a PC with a DVD-Rom or better still a DVD-Writer as standard instead of those old CD-Rom devices and worse still Floppy-Drives ?

Some laptops are starting the trend and supplying DVD-RW's to play with... After all, CD-Rom's and Floppy Drives are pretty old now and we have to move on before the new Blu-Ray takes hold and kicks DVD into the background...

Whaddya think peeps ?

Build your own or specify what you want, either way you get the pc to meet your requirements.

Mesh have been supplying machines with the Sony DRU10a multi DVD burner for some months. Two colleagues have bought them.

Good point guys, but I'm on about dropping floppy and cd-rom totally and dealing with DVD Drives instead... since they can read CD-Rom's and write CDRW's why have the older drives at all... ?
