DVD Recorder - HDMI - TV

1. Can any one tell me what to expect if I use an HDMI cable between the above. Both have a specific socket.

2. I gather the cables are expensive, where can I buy one at a reasonable cost?

Thanks David

Try click here= I purchased a 5M cable a few months ago but have not used it much as I tend to listen to the TV while I'm on my computer.

Picture quality through my Samsung 32" TV is very good but I have not worked out how to get the sound through my TV when viewing videos etc.

The picture quality will always depend on the Computers video card and your TV.

Thanks 100andthirty thats handy to know.
Just to be clear the HDMI cable connects the DVD Recorder to the TV (HD Ready).
Just wondered whether there would an improvement as the DVD Recorder is nothing special.

What media (DVD, Freeview TV) is likely to show an improvement with HDMI activated?
Thanks David

I would assume that if your DVD Recorder has an HDMI output, it will have upscaling to either 720i or 1080i standard. This would mean that DVDs played on it should benefit from the upscaled resolution but not to the extent of original HD content. I don't know if freeview content would be upscaled but suspect that it would not be.
