I am about to buy a new computer, and as almost all the ones I am looking at have Dual layer recording it seems I should get one of these. What I would like to know is - will I be able to use ordinary +/- DVD's on these machines. I know I will only be able to get Single layer recordings but that is OK,just didn't know if they will be able to record.

MagsD,

Yes, you can use single layer media in these drives.

The LG GSA 4163B 16x dual layer is on special offer at Microdirect for £33-48 inc. vat. It also has the advantage that it supports DVD-RAM discs.
