Distance Selling Regs

How do the DSR work with downloaded software?

I downloaded a programme earlier this week and when I try to run it I get an error message about an out of date grid.

E-mails to Support are not even acknowledged, so is there a next step, or do I go straight to my credit card company?

I don't think DSR applies in the case of software that's opened or loaded for obvious reasons.

It's only Wednesday. I expect Support will contact you in their own good time.

The DSR is a complex matter with regards to software.

You might find something here!.

and find that it is corrupted, or not fit for the purpose for which it was sold you are entitled to a refund or a replacement, in exactly the same way as you would be if you bought a faulty hardware product.

What you are not entitled to do is install software and then claim a refund under the 7-day rule, for obvious reasons.

Many thanks for responses.

I will give them some more time. As the DSR don't apply I don't have to take action within seven days.

But the website terms and conditions might, and time might be the essence. Worth checking perhaps?.
