I brought my Vivitar digital just over 12 month ago. It cost about £140,
spec, includes 3.3m pixels, a very good beginners camera (SD expandable card) takes a very good quality photo indeed. At the time I brought it, kodack ect were all priced at about £160-£180 for there basic digital of only 2m pixels and had less features on them.
If you want a surprisingly good camera at a low price get a PersonCam from 7 Dayshop.com about £17.00! yes £17.00. VGA resolution but better than you might think have a look at PersonCAM.com gallery site. Works in very low light levels bit of a battery eater if you keep it in your pocket I just take out the batteries when not using. Once you take pictures you have to keep the batteries in until you download them no card only on board ram 8mb. No affiliation with 7 Day shop by the way.
