Looking for a good quality Digital Camcorder for all- round use.

Budget of about £800.

Any suggestions appreciated.

with that money. Sony produces the best models. But Panasonic produces value for money models with very good picture quality. Search on-line store for best price.

Sony models produce top quality results

Make sure the model you buy has facility for both DV-in and DV-out so that you can easily edit video. Some cheaper models have only DV-out.

Some models don't use video tape now. While the new digital drives may seem a good idea I still feel that there are many reasons why tape is the best method particularly when away from home

Don't be afraid to buy a model which has just been replaced. New models seem to arrive every 6 months, often with very little difference. The old models are sold off at real bargain prices and are well worth considering

N.B. I tried to find the Sony DCR-TRV33E reviewed in PC Advisor, but it appears to have been discontinued.
