Dell Monitor Pricing

The Dell site configurator quotes £300 for adding the SP2309W monitor to a PC (i7-920 desktop) Specification. However the Monitor section of the site quotes £229 for the same monitor. Is this a ripoff or is there some inocent explaination.

It might be a mistake, but it's not only with monitors. Many of their system upgrades are rip-offs too imo.

And they aren't always the cheapest for their own products. E.g. PCBuyIt have the same monitor for ~£15-20 less click here. Their warranty terms are arguably better than Dell as well.

Also note that Dell do a few good deals from time to time - the same monitor was just under £190 (incl VAT & del) only a few weeks ago click here. G

All else are other manufacturers lines rebadged to complement the line up.
When that happens the prices are bound to be inflated over the original manufacturers.
It is not only Dell of course most big names in computers/cameras- electronics of all sorts actually manufacture only a core selection of what ever - the rest of the product list of the line up is re-badged generics from all over
