Dell Deilvery Charges

I was surprised to find out that Dell's Delivery charge of £60 ex VAT came to nearly 30% of the price of the system!!! Surely it cannot cost that much to send a base unit box!!! They must be making the money from the delivery.

It's got to come from Limerick, so must cost something. Often they have offers of free delivery, you just need to order at the right time.

It has gone up a bit though, it used to be £49 plus vat.

Try sending something the size of a PC from Ireland to the UK with on-line tracking throughout and full insurance - I'm sure it would cost approaching that.

Not very long ago, Dell use to offer about 4 different prices/packages for the same model, but they do not seem to have those offers of late. As mentioned, free delivery plus the addition of free memory upgrades were the normal.

Possibly a on-line quote, then a telephone quote might bring different delivery charges?.
