USE PC FOR:Programming,Photoshop/visual editing.Talking about games nothing too big.

From your post it would appear that you have 2 x 1Gb memory sticks already installed. Do you plan on keeping them and adding 2 more? If so you should use the same speed you currently have. If you plan on ditching them and buying new then go for the fastest your motherboard will take. You don't say what OS you are using, if it is 32bit there is no point in going beyond a total of 4Gb as your OS will not recognise it

You will need the model number of your motherboard. Enter the details into the free compatibility report and it will tell you the type of memory you can fit. The number after the - eg 8500 is the speed of the memory. It is not advisable to exceed the recommended speed as this can result in instability. Try to match the new memory by make and speed with the existing memory and as Chub_Tor said, if you are running a 32 bit OS then 4GB is the max. Any more than that will be wasted.
