Cost of Memory up by 50% and more

  wee eddie 12:15 07 Feb 2009

Just before Christmas I decided that I would "up" my memory in the "Post Christmas" Sales.

Just add 1GB or so. Cost of 2GB then: £44. Now costs in the low £80's. Rats!

I assume that part of this is the fall in value of the £, but that does not account for all.

I shall keep my money in my pocket.

Anyone else been caught out?

Where is that from only just got a 2 gig module for my NC10 from Crucial for less than 20 quid delivered. OK, I know all modules cannot be compared on price alone but £80 seems a bit steep.

Both Crucial & Kingston have put their prices up by the same amount.

I am getting by without.

RAM prices are very volatile at the moment.
Normally good bargains around Xmas then the prices rise!

Im afraid everyone has had to put their prices up and as was mentioned, it is due to the strength of the £ to the $. Unfortunately this isnt likely to change for a while but click here have some good offers on memory like corsair 2gb 800mhz for £34 inc vat
