Cost of Broadband

We have just got our renewal notice for our works broadband supply. We do not download anything just use it for searching. It says on the bill “ADSL for 1 year Business Unlimited £359.88 + Static IP for remote access £60.00 total for 1 year £419.88 + VAT. Please could somebody tell me are we paying to much.

Two magic words "Business" and "Unlimited" = carte blanche to extract as much money from you as they possibly can.

Check on how much you use the service and see if a domestic service would suit your needs.

My home capped ADSL gives me 40GB pcm which, from what you say, should be plenty of capacity for you.

That isn't bad for business broadband... do you know what the 'contention ratio' is?

Home users are more heavily 'contended' (sharing the same pipe effectively) than business users normally are. There are also better SLAs (service level agreemeents) for business typically. Doesn't sound that bad to me for business.
