What is the difference between the two and which is more advance? Looking at laptops but don't know the ins and outs between the 2. Thanks

core duo are older processos that have a different architecture to core 2 duo, core duo processors are only 32bit while modern processors tend to be 64 bit as i am sure most of us will move to 64 bit systems soon.

if you want to compare the processors in the laptops you are looking at then use this website click here as it makes it simple for anyone to understand

no problem anytime, should also point out the same website has reviews of most of the mobile graphics cards too click here and if you click on specific graphics cards it will give you a short description and what they are capable of.
