Choosing a light but large screen laptop

Hi there

I'd like to buy a replacement for my 3-yr old Toshiba Satellite Pro, which is great but very heavy. I only use my laptop for work so I don't need any multimedia features, just good processing power and reliability. My current screen is 17", so I appreciate I won't be able to get that again (!) but all the ultra-mobile laptops seem to have c. 12" screens, which is too small for working at all day.

My budget is around £800-£900 inc VAT and software. Ideally I'd like Vista compatibility rather than XP, for which I think I need 2GB of RAM...? I've looked around and the Samsung Q35 and Q45, Toshiba A200 and Acer AS5633 Core2Duo all seem to fit my brief. I'd be very grateful for any thoughts!

Stay with Toshiba.

Thank you. Out of interest, is that because Toshiba are so good, or because Samsung / Acer aren't particularly good (I've seem some criticism of Acer on the forums)? I'm quite taken with the Q45 you see!
