Cash for Gold

Interesting to read an article in the latest Which? magazine about these Cash For Gold companies.

Which? presented a bangle worth about £225 to various companies and some of them offered as low as £7 for it.

Are people that gullible ?

People are that gullible or desperate.

Yes, but it is caused by ignorance. In other words, they don't know what they've got.

If anyone proposes to sell to one of these companies, it pays do do some research.

Most of these buy your gold companies will pay under the scrap value of the metal to allow for the labour involved in getting the metal clean. They are not interested in the value of the piece, only in its gold. The sale of any gem-stones is a bonus (for them).

we have a few of these type places, noticed a lot of dodgy looking young lads go to these places. I was wondering why they have no cctv in any of them I am sure this would prove useful to burglary investigations where gold jewellry has gone missing.

the best gold story has got to be ethiopia's gold reserves the gold was steel bricks sprayed gold.

did they buy then like that or were they switched by insiders pulling off a gold bullion theft.
