I need a scanner quite quickly and don't want to pay too much. I have seen the Canon LIde100 and wondered if anybody had this? Would you recommend it?

I have a Canon Lide 60 for quite a few years now and it does a good job for me.

Canon scanners do get a good review.

I've got a Canon Lide 90 which I have been using for several years, firstly with XP, then Vista and now currently Windows 7, very pleased with it.

EFC1878, a friend uses a Canon Lide 80 scanner.
He seems to be quite happy with it and it produces good quality scans for his home use.

In the long term I would think Lide scanners will prove very reliable. This is because they use LED technology to replace the fluorescent tubes used in many other scanners.

After saying that, I have used an Epson Perfection 2480 scanner for a number of years, scanning many 35mm film, documents and photo media without any problems.
