Canon 500F scanner

Has anyone used this scanner before. I keep putting off buying a scanner because I cant make my mind up. Now I've seen this one, its making my choice even harder!

No, I have the 5200F because of the slide scanning function. If you are looking for comments on Canon I can only say I have been delighted (18 months of ownership)

Am I paying a premium for the style of this model? It seems to have a lower resolution than cheaper or equivalent scanners.

If it's of any help I have owned a CanoScan 5000F for about 3 years now - this is a flatbed model as opposed to the one shown in your link.

It has given faultless performance (touch wood) to date, and get's used a lot for work. Comes supplied with excellent software, and an add-on unit for use with 35mm negatives.

Bought it as a result of a PCA Review, where it came out top.
