Buying new PC from Evesham

  Ico 19:37 25 Jan 2005

After seeing Half-Life 2 running on a friends machine, I've decided to buy a new pc. This is only the second time I've bought one so any pointers as to things i've missed out or should look out for would really be appreciated.
The one I've decided on (so far) is and Evesham Axis 64 MKR :

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
200 GB H/Drive
No Raid (don't know what this means?)
256mb DDR Radeon X800 Pro PCI-Express

Alomg with modem, dvd writers and the other usual stuff this is all going to cost £1180.

Any thoughts appreciated

Sounds an excellent machine from a top quality manufacturer.

The Graphics card will certainly make playing Half Life 2 an experience.

Cheers - I'd read they were a pretty good company.
One thing I can't seem to find out is how many USB ports it has; is it standard nowadays to have four? If theres only two I'm going to have to buy some sort of USB multi adaptor.

The last two computers I bought from evesham both
had six usb ports 4 at the back two at the front.

I run two Evesham PCs and give them my full recommendation.

Thanks everybody for your help - good to know I'm going with the right company.

My 2 year old Evesham still runs quiet and fast. I still have a years warrenty left and would go for Evesham again next time. Their Athlon machines are good value. You can find other makes a bit cheaper but with great customer service and build you get what you pay for. If it was a car it would be a VW OR HONDA!
