Well we all have our own opinions of Jeremy Clarkson???

I'm one of the people who have continued to pay for caller display, without realising that I needed to re-register to get the free service.

"Well we all have our own opinions of Jeremy Clarkson???"

I don't see the connection with the above quote and the possibility of saving some money.

My pleasure FE. I am sure you are not by yourself.

And for real savings:- Retaining my existing line and going to a another provider I not only eliminated the above cost but effectively eliminated the monthly line rental charge also.

>>but effectively eliminated the monthly line rental charge also.>>

If you have retained your existing line (if it is a BT line) you will still have to pay line rental to BT.

how can bt do bt privacy free...and not tell there existing customers on caller display that they can get it free?we are mugs in this country, on this note check out uswitch to get your own back not only on bt but on all utility bills

as it's recently been taken over by an American company. Are they really going to be concerned about how much Brits pay for electricity etc? I can't see it myself. I hope I'm wrong.

To be fair to them though, I don't know who owned it previously.

"If you have retained your existing line (if it is a BT line) you will still have to pay line rental to BT."

I pay nothing direct to BT for line rental, I use the existing BT line, but have no account with BT.

Talk talk combined charges for me equates to saving of the monthly line charge.

As I said effectively eliminated the monthly line rental charge.

Thanks for this info; like the FE I have been paying for this.

FE: have you been in touch with BT to make the change to the free caller display service?; any problems in doing this?.

FE:

Have you contacted BT and made the change for the free caller display service.

Did BT make any difficulties?.
