Best value laptop for around £500

  athertpa 21:32 29 Nov 2010

Hi all,

I am currently hunting around for the best value laptop for my parents (budget around £500). I have been to PC world and the usual high street stores and they all feel a bit like a con.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a good laptop. Main requirements will be internet, some simple programs, decent HDD and RAM.

Would be interested in a I5 system if possible? but open to any suggestions. Please help!!!

Graphics card/gaming not an issue (At best my mum might play a bit of solitaire!)

maybe have a look around John lewis you get a free 2 year warranty with them.

Also E-Buyer and Amazon will deliver free.
Or have a look in Tesco's internet sales.

It will give you something to look at until someone can help you make your choice.

You will be very lucky to find a Core i5 laptop under £600 see these examples click here.

If you go for a Core i3 laptop there a quite a few options under £500 click here. Any of those shown would be more than capable of going what you want.
