HiAm looking for a decent laptop for less than £300.Not looking to play games on it / download films.Just want something which has a good reputaion for reliability.Currently have an ASUS X51RL which has served me well, but due to 'unwise' internet use (which I won't continue with the new machine!) it's slowed considerably due to viruses...I'd definitely consider an ASUS machine again... any useful advice?
Cant you clean up the old one,and save some money?
Not as far as I know...According to my Kaspersky Internet Protection, there are currently 208 threats to my PC (including 6 trojans...) For peace of mind, I'd rather get a new laptop and use the internet more sensibly (especially as I do on-line banking).
If you are paying for Kapersky why not use it to clean up your laptop?
Of course the old laptop can be fixed/cleaned up, but padpc doesn't seem interested in doing that, perhaps he just wants to buy a new faster laptop.
