Dear All - any advice would be appreciated for a technophobe. I require a basic laptop for around the £400 mark. I only need it for use of the internet and email, word processing and additionally, to process RAW digital imagery through adobe photoshop. Any top tips ?

Try Novatech or Dell.
But £400 will not buy you much these days!

Just as an addition to this - one option suggested to me is an Acer Aspire 9301WSMi. AMD turio 64MK-38 2.20Ghz / 1024MbRAM/120GbHard drive/Nvidia Geforce Go6100Graphics. This costs £457

Will this do the trick and play the odd game (nothing too fancy)

This is Dells possibility. Any pro's or cons of Dell and is this machine of a decent enough spec to last for a year or two ?
