AVI File Splitter Required

I have tried to find suitable free/cheap software to be able to carryout a specific task.

My computer records CCTV footage and the file's "AVI" generated are approxiamtely 20mb in size covering between 6-10 minutes. At the moment I delete the files which we DO NOT need to keep, but if we have a delivery for example which lasts less than a minute I am left with a 20mb file.

Is there any software that would allow me to plot a start & finish point in the footage and save that as a new AVI file.

The format has to be AVI in order to be compatible with the CCTV software / database?

Thank-you leo, I will give this one a go. It does look very easy to use and is reasonably priced.

And it does actually work - I use it all the time.

Excellent Leo49 it's perfect. Instead of wasting 20mb of disc space I can now trim the files down to sizes ranging from 650kb - 2.5mb.

It also enables you to take several portions from each file.

Ticked as resolved.
