Argos confidence trick?

  Bald Eagle 20:11 03 Jun 2009

Went on site to check availability of a cheap and cheerful tent. This is what I got!
The tent costing £9.99 has to be delivered at a cost of £5.80!
Some bargain!

Hope this link works! Otherwise you'll have to look up 340/9756 and check it out yourselves.

Now the links missing, ever have a day you wished you'd stayed in bed?

Nice link to show us your trolleys empty.
How is it a con?

  Bald Eagle 20:52 03 Jun 2009

Yes the link's losing the info about buying one! The con is they offer a tent for £9.99 that costs £15.79 because you have to have it delivered.

  tullie 21:06 03 Jun 2009

Thats true, but you know that before you buy it.

Considering tesco have the same one

It's a very good deal as tesco charge £5 to deliver or collect from store

as a 'confidence trick' because it's nothing of the kind.

I think you would be much happier with a Tipi (wigwam)

  Stuartli 00:32 04 Jun 2009

You really didn't expect Argos to deliver a £10 tent for nothing, did you?

The link to the tent on the Argos website clearly states that it cannot be reserved for store pickup.

In other words, you have to go to your local Argos store and buy one in the normal way.

If only all "confidence tricks" were as easily seen through!
