Anti-Virus for Windows 98

  Kong 11:27 15 Jan 2004

Wonder if someone can suggest a good anti-virus for my wife's windows98 machine. She had bought Norton Anti-virus over the internet but could not download it properly. Just as well as I found out later that many people had incompatibility problems with Windows 98 and NAV.

I have both Windows xp and 98se on my pc. Norton systemworks, incuding antivirus, runs just fine on both operating systems.

I have Windows 98SE and have used AVG without any problems for about three years. With dial up it takes about 15 minutes to download - they send you an e-mail with the release code and off you go.

Used to use Norton until they stopped my updates. Now use AVG and without probs. Norton excelled itself by missing mangetout 1099, a Trojan and two other things which were supposed to be dire but did no apparent harm!
