My wife is keen on buying one of these to scan documents, book pages etc, so that she can edit them using MS Word.

She has requested my help to find out if they are as good as they appear. Would be grateful for members comments.

Hand held scanners are not new technology but by definition cannot be as accurate as say a flatbed scanner.

However, they are very portable, and can be used when say a book cannot be opened far enough to lie flat on a scanner bed.

If it is to be truly portable then a laptop to accept the data is high on the list of essentials.

It all depends on the particular needs Mrs. freaky has.

Many thanks for the reply, 'Mrs' freaky has taken the plunge and ordered it today.

She was in Sweden last week and met someone using one, and was very impressed with the results.

No doubt as usual, it will be me who will have to get it working !

Well it's running very well and comes with excellent software.

Glad it is all you hoped it would be.
