AMD X2 Motherboard Bundle, Fast??

Thnking of upgrading my son's comp for him to take to UNI in 3 wks time. Do you think this is faster than his present one, AMD Atlon 3000 with 2 gig ddr memory?

It'll be 'faster', but really depends on what he uses it for. If OS remains the same, I'd say in everyday Windows tasks/Internet browsing/similar one wouldn't notice much difference.

Is he going to be playing any games? If yes, which ones? G

Thanks for the info to date. Yes, he'll be playing games and multi tasking which is why I am thinking of upgrading it for him. OS will be XP Home as I don't like Vista. Thanks also Joe R. That looks very good. Do you know if its as good a co as Novatech? Thanks

used the company, on and off over a few years now, mostly depending on price.

Have never had any problems whatsoever, and even had a couple of returns, dealt with promptly.
