Amazon Phishing emails

There are some official-looking Amazon Phishing emails going around right now that ask people to confirm getting the email.

This will alert the spammers to your live email account, and also probably try to steal your credit info and ID.

and they're very convincing. A worrying sign is that some of these phishing messages are becoming quite sophisticated - no longer is it quite so easy to pick them out because of bad spelling and grammar.

There are automatic systems to confirm whether a recipient has received/opened an email (MSGTag for one). Any worthwhile company wanting to know if you had received their message would use this rather than a manual confirmation.

I actually got caught out a couple of years ago, by one "from eBay".

Realised my mistake almost immediately and changed all my passwords - good practice anyway.

Don't reply to spam, as it lets the spammers know that yours is a real live address
