£44 for Vista RC1, what a rip off

I can't believe people on ebay are bidding for two vista 32 and 64 bit DVD's from Microsoft and the bidding is now at £44 with 6 hours left. You can still even download RC1 from Microsoft. I wouldn't pay £44 for RC1 when a few builds newer than 5600 have been released,

That's eBay for you. If the products available, then someone may make a successful bid :O).

But where's the rip off?

  Jimmy14 14:27 18 Nov 2006

the rip-off is that you can still download Vista RC1 32 and 64 bit for free on Microsofts website. Would you pay £51 for a vista RC1 dvd???

"On 15-Nov-06 at 07:52:54 GMT, seller added the following information:

Too All That Are Unsure This Copy Does Not Time Expire, And Will Remain Opperational As Long As You Wish. However It Is Noted That Updates Will Expire June 2007.The Product Willl Continue To Work."

That's not right... It reduces functionality that much you can do nowt but buy the retail version when it comes out.

Jimmy 14. Of course I wouldn't pay for it if I can get it free. The point I'm making is that a rip off is when you have no alternative and you are being charged over the odds for something.

  Jimmy14 19:47 18 Nov 2006

You know what I mean and so has everyone else. It is a con and you are being charged completely over the odds for it when it cost around £12 to buy the official DVD from Microsoft.

So you put a win vista cd on ebay and the bidding gets to £40 or more, how is the bidder being ripped off.

Ita an auction.

People get carried away at auctions.

This is obviously a pirate copy if it continues after all else stops.

If I bought a copy of Vista in the US would it still work OK in the UK?
