3D Sound card advice

  TomG 11:49 09 Mar 2004

I've a Pavillion HP 423.uk PC with 256mb ram and a 108 celeron.

I'd like to buy a decent 3d sound card - can someone recommend one (i'll pay upto £75). will my current ram cope or should i add some more?

3D sound = Surround Sound?

The Creative Audigy 2 ZS is the card to have these days (7.1, THX certification etc etc) click here

£85.50 but can probably be had for less...

RAM doesn't really come in to it with sound cards.

Creative is generally regarded as the benchmark for all sound cards but, and this must not be forgotten, the quality and sound reproduction of the speakers also play a critical part.
