  symphony 17:04 08 Jan 2008

Any recommendations for a particular model please?
Needs to be 200 pounds or under.

Not sure what the model is, but there is a Samsung 22" at just under £200 that has had good reviews. I think it might be SM226BW model.

Have had one for a few months now, it is everything I hoped it would be.
In wide screen format I wondered about snags.
no problem at all just the facility of more space to line up items side by side.

Just came on here to ask the exact same question. Im about to buy a system from Dell where I can get the 22" Dell E228WFP monitor for £170 or thinking about the Samsung SM226Bw or the 2232BW.

Is the Samsung worth the extra £40 or will the Dell be almost as good? Whats the difference between the 2 Samsung models mentioned above?

Thanks in advance. Hope Im not intruding on your original question symphony.

I got the Samy 2232BW just before Christmas, just buy it dont even bother looking at any others. I could sit and look at it even wen its turned off, its a beautiful peice of hardware. Im mostly a gamer and internet user and the monitor has perfect preset modes for both. I can't recommend it enough.

The SM226BW by Samsung is the main candidate and most of you are saying that's the one to go for.
Being a cautious sort I have a couple of concerns.

Don't know if it's still an issue but wasn't there considerable issues with models from certain countries of manufacture? Does anyone know if it's still an issue? (may be remedied now, an old issue?)
I read somewhere the contrast ratio is really 1000:1 not 3000:1??

click here I'm very pleased with it - 3000:1

I got the Samsung 226BW, and it achieved a near perfect score on Trusted reviews click here To read more. It really is superb, not only for image, but the 2MS response, and HDCP compatability:XD

£199 click here it was £189 last night.
I should have ordered then.
I have the 19 inch version now and want the 22.

I purchased the Samsung 226BW the moment it hit the shelves at overclockers last year and it's excellent. See my earlier post on another thread. click here
